Solar Sunday

Public Outreach

Sunday, 17th July 2022 (11:00 - 15:00)

Venue: RSPB Old Moor

This is an excellent chance to learn from the professionals about how the sun supports all life on earth in addition to simply warming the world.

The telescopic gear you need to observe the sun safely will be brought by the Mexborough & Swinton Astronomical Society. You will be astounded to learn that the sun is the solar system's nuclear reactor, and you might even spot evidence of solar flares, which are enormous magnetic blasts of energy that fly into space.

Solar Observing in the courtyard of RSPB Old Moor.

11:00 am to 3:00 pm.

Provided by Mexborough & Swinton Astronomical Society.

Speaker: Various
