Moon Talk Live from the Observatory

Guest Speaker

Thursday, 10th February 2022 (19:45 - 22:00)

Venue: The J.A. Jones Hoober Observatory

As we track the telescope across the Moon, I will describe the reasons that we see what we see and explain what it teaches us about the history of the Moon.  If the skies are cloudy I will do much the same presentation using a high-resolution photograph of the Moon at about the same phase.

For none members, you can book tickets here

Speaker: Peter Lloyd

Peter was born south of London just before the outbreak of the second world war, graduated with degrees in Natural Sciences from Oxford, and finally retired as a systems engineer in 2003.  He has been interested in Astronomy ever since he was a child, and got into astrophotography at the time the webcams appeared.  He joined the Doncaster Astronomical Society when he moved to Yorkshire about 5 years ago and is now their General Secretary
