Celebrating 30 year's advancing astronomy
We are holding an open day to celebrate our 30 years as a society. All are welcome to attend and listen to our eminent guest speakers. Speakers include our society Honorary President, Dr Alan Chapman of Wadham College of Oxford; Dr Chris Watson; Paul Money FRAS and Prof. John Parkinson. We are alos pleased to have a special mention from Sir Patrick Moore (pre recorded Video), see it online http://tiny.cc/MSAS
The celebrations will be held at the Swinton Working Mens' Club, Station Street, Swinton, Mexborough S64 8AU, doors open 10.00am

Our Annual Report and Statement of Accounts, for the year to March 31 2007 took 3rd place (and a £250 prize) in the Charities with an income less than £100,000 category of the Charities Online Accounts Awards 2008. The awards - organised by the Charities Aid Foundation and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) - are designed to promote transparency and reward charities that publish the most friendly and accessible online financial reports.
