The Formation of the Milky Way and Gold-Rich Stars

Guest Speaker

Thursday, 4th April 2024 (19:45 - 22:00)

Venue: Hybrid

Elemental abundances of stars in the Milky Way are the fossil records of the Milky Way's history. Ongoing efforts of observations have shown that there are stars enhanced in heavy elements such as gold, platinum, and europium. In this talk, I will show how we extract the history of the Milky Way imprinted in stars and how gold-rich stars are formed in our Galaxy.
